Table salt can revive a drowned larva.  Simply cover it with table salt and wait 15 minutes.  If it doesn’t crawl out of the salt within 15 minutes, dispose of the larva and salt.  We don’t ever recommend using one that has been revived as a breeder butterfly but since we are raising them to help them, saving every one that isn’t diseased or otherwise damaged is a good thing.
