Association for Butterflies is pleased to announce three butterfly habitat mini-grants awarded for 2015!

Each grant awarded was a matching-fund grant and each applicant had to raise funds to meet that match. Check out the pictures and information about each one awarded!

Carousel Play & Learn Butterfly Habitat in Greensburg, IN – approved for $201
I want to thank you once again for your donation to our Butterfly Garden. So far we have five monarch butterflies in the garden on a daily basis. One morning one of our staff went out before her shift and counted 20 different monarch butterflies. Here are a few pictures of our completed projects along with a couple of pictures of the kids – they have photo releases for the Center to provide to you for the grant. They were so excited to see the butterflies up close. Now we are just on the look out for some caterpillars – hopefully. Please let me know if there is anything else you need for the grant and if there are ever any more opportunities through your organization or another you know of. We hope to continue to expand our garden over the next few years. Thank you for all you do. The children and staff really appreciate this opportunity!

Bloom Elementary PTA Butterfly Habitat in Louisville, KY – approved for $150
I look forward to receiving the mini grant check that will be used to purchase an assortment of host and nectar plants and provide landscaping to attract butterflies into the school’s new brick courtyard planned for completion this summer. Watch for photos of the finished project as soon as they are available.

Timber Ridge Elementary Butterfly Habitat in McDonough, GA – approved for $75
Good Afternoon,
I just wanted to say thank you again for this grant. I am attaching a few pictures to show you how we have used the money we received. Our most exciting news is that when we ordered milkweed plants, they came with two monarch caterpillars as a surprise. We had no idea! The sad news is they ate all of the milkweed. Thankfully, one of them already formed a chrysalis. We are hoping the other one forms one soon. I have more pictures on my website and information regarding what we are doing at TRE. The students are very excited about this Monarch journey on which we have embarked.
